Government Engineering College, Valsad

Chemical Engineering Department is an integral part of Government Engineering College(GEC) Valsad, established in the year 2004. The institute aims to provide quality education for professional courses that makes student knowledge with the subject domain and worthy citizen as well. The institute is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. The college is administrated by Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar. The Institute campus is adjoining to other five academic institutes on tithal road. Presently the institute is running 05 under graduate programs and one post graduate program.

Chemical Engineering Department of GEC Valsads started with the inception of the institute. The department has the successful track record of producing competent and potential chemical engineers who are placed in the various fields of chemical engineering. The department is well equipped with laboratory and instruments along with good infrastructure to impart the best practical education. Department has 19 experienced teaching faculty members. The faculty members have nearly 30 research publications, 5 patents and 3 awards at their credit.

The department is well connected to Chemical Industries located at Vapi. Department runs a student chapter of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) under Vapi Regional Centre to enhance student interaction with chemical professionals. The department organizes technical workshops, events, webinars, guest lectures and industrial visits at regular intervals. The students’ research projects and curriculum is aligned with industry. Student receive funding from Students Startup and Innovation Policy for prototype and mentoring of creative projects.
